Just like the Moon (2020) was a devised clown show for the University of Calgary’s mainstage season and my directing thesis project. Drawing inspiration from commedia dell’arte and Pulcinella puppetry, the ensemble, creative team, and I created a cheeky tragic clown show during a time of mass grief. It was performed by Sebastian Ruedas (Pierrot), Maria Bustos (the Moon), Nia Devetsis (marimba/foley), with special help from assistant director, Joseph Mcmanus.
